    GRISWOLD’S FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
    A reunion and dinner was sponsored by the family of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold, Tuesday, December 28th, in the rose room of the Hotel Jayhawk in Topeka, in honor of the Golden Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Griswold. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Griswold, of Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie H. Griswold and Betty Jean of Shawnee, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin B. Griswold, Dale, Mary and Don, of Newton, Kan; Mr. and Mrs. George E. Ryder of Independence, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lyon, Bruce, Duane and Richard, of Newton, Kansas.

    The party was continued at Rossville until Wednesday, when they dispersed to their various homes.

    OBSERVE 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

    Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold Sunday, December 28, were Mr. and Mrs. Les lie H. Griswold and Betty Jean, of Shawnee, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin B. Griswold and Don of Newton, Kansas, Dr. and Mrs. Dale Griswold of Newton, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lyon, Bruce, Duane, and Richard of Newton, Kansas.

    The family gathering was in celebration of the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Griswold, who were married sixty years ago here in Rossville.

    E. G. Griswold
    Services for Edgar G. Griswold, 93, of Rossville, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rossville Methodist Church with burial in Rossville Cemetery. He died Friday at his home.
    Born May 23, 1870 in Santa Rosa, Calif., Mr. Griswold moved with his parents to Illinois in 1871 and to Kansas in 1874, settling near Solomon.
    He was graduated from Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia in 1894 and taught school a number of years. He had farmed in the Rossville community since 1902.
    Mr. Griswold was a member of Rossville Methodist Church.
    Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Griswold of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Lyon of Newton; two sons, Leslie H. Griswold of Shawnee, Okla., and Sherwin B. Griswold of Newton; a brother, Fred A. Griswold, of San Diego, Calif., and eight grandchildren.
    Parker Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
    E. G. Griswold Dies at Age 93
    Edgar G. Griswold, a longtime resident of Rossville died at 3:10 p.m. at his home at the age of 93 years. He was born at Santa Rosa, California, May 23, 1870. In 1874 he moved with his parent to Kansas settling near Solomon where he grew to manhood.
    In 1894 he graduated from Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia. He spent a number of years of his early life teaching school and in 1902 moved his family to Rossville where he engaged in general farming until his death. He also took an interest in civic and public affairs of the community, serving in various offices. He served six years as Mayor of the town and was elected a number of times as Councilman. He served several terms as a member of both the grade and high school boards and took an active part in organizing the Rossville Rural High School district.
    He was a member of the Methodist Church and took an active part in church and Sunday School.
    Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Griswold of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Lyon of Newton, Kansas; two sons; Leslie H. of Shawnee Oklahoma; Sherwin B. of Newton, Kansas; one brother, Fred A. Griswold of San Diego, California, and eight grandchildren.
    Services were held in the Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Don Jones officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Don Berkey, soloist, with Mrs. Joe Campbell at the organ.
    Pallbearers were Ralph Page, Homer Reid, LaVerne Spears, Joe Gresser, L.B. Crow, and G. P. Stumbaugh. Interment was in Rossville cemetery.

    In the Matter of the Estate of EDGAR G> GRISWOLD, Deceased No. 28168
    NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTORS
    To the Creditors, Heirs, Devisees and Legatees of Edgar G. Griswold, deceased, and all others concerned:
    You and each of you will take notice that on the 26th day of July, 1963, Sherwin B. Griswold and Nettie Griswold were appointed joint executors of the Will of Edgar G. Griswold, deceased, and duly qualified as such joint executors and Letters Testamentary were issued to them on July 26th, 1963, by the Probate Court of Shawnee County, Kansas.
    All parties interested in said estate will take notice and govern themselves accordingly. All creditors are notified to exhibit their demands against the said estate within nine months from the date of the first publication of this Notice, as provided by law, and if their demands are not thus exhibited they shall be forever barred.
