Mrs. Lorraine Patton announces the marriage of her daughter, Nora Dell to Mr. John Lyman Foresman, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Foresman of Wamego, Kans. The marriage took place at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, August 27, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church at St. Marys, the Rev. Father John A. Barens S.J. officiating.
The altar was beautiful with lighted candles and baskets of flowers.
Miss Audria Foresman of Topeka, sister of the groom was brides maid and Mr. Foresman chose his brother Roy for best man. The bride was lovely in a floor length dress of white satin and net and white shoes. She wore a short veil with a wreath of white gardenias, and she carried an arm bouquet of orchids, asters, ferns and statice. Her only jewelry was a little gold cross and chain.
The brides maid wore a sky blue chiffon dress, floor length with white turbin, silver slippers and carried an arm bouquet of white asters, ferns and statice.
Mrs. Foresman received her education in both the Rossville Grade and high school. She also is a graduate from the Stewart Beauty Academy of Topeka, Kans. She passed the state board of cosmotology. She worked in the Powder Puff and College Hill Beauty Shop at Topeka, and was owner and operator of the Kut and Kurl Beauty Shoppe at Silver Lake. Since April she has been at home with her mother.
Mr. Foresman received his education at Wamego, Kans. from the parochial grade and high school. He has been farming with his father and will continue farming. The young couple will be at home to their friends on a farm east of Wamego.
A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride, after the wedding. The immediate family of the bride and groom were present including: Mr. and Mrs. John Foresman, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Foresman and daughter, Audria and son Roy, Mrs. Joe D. Parr, Jeannine, Thane and Larry, Mrs. Chas Meade, Mrs. Patton, Clyde and Eileen.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mrs. August Hoferer and daughter Bernadine Taylor, Gail Ault, Marcia Ault, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Applegate and daughter Julia, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Foresman all of Wamego; Mrs. W.E. Patton, Cleo Patton, Mrs. Chas. Meade, Mrs. Joe D. Parr, Luella Olson, Gladys Martin, Winifred Decker, Lois Hogan, Anita Lemon and Maxine Marney all of Rossville.

John Lyman Foresman, 82, St. Marys, died of cancer at a Topeka Hospice House.
He was born September 27, 1917, in Wamego, the son of William and Hattie Ault Foresman, and grew up in the Wamego and Belvue Communities. He had lived most of his life in St. Marys.
Mr. Foresman was a farmer, mechanic and lumberman until his retirement. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 657.
On August 27, 1940, he was married to Nora Dell Patton in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John William Foresman, Au¬burn, and Thomas Michael Foresman, Rossville; two brothers, Ralph Foresman, St. Marys, and LeRoy Foresman, Kansas City, KS; a sister, Audria North, Topeka; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary, in 1944.
He will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday (this afternoon) at Piper- Verschelden Funeral Home in St.
Marys. At 7 p.m„ there will be a prayer service, followed by a Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Basic Cancer Research and sent in care of the funeral home.

St. Marys, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at a Topeka hospice house. He had cancer.
He was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Wamego, to William and Hattie Ault Foresman. He spent his early life in the Wamego and Belvue communities and lived in St. Marys for many years. He was a farmer, mechanic and lumberman before he retired.
