    Mrs. Alma Dean announces the marriage of her daughter, Edna Lorene, to Mr. Emerson Bailey, on Friday Dec. 7th, at Topeka. Mr. Bailey is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bailey of Hoyt. Mrs. Bailey has always lived in this community, receiving her education in the Rossville schools.

    Mr. and Mrs. Bailey are at home on their farm north of Grove.

    Mr. and Mrs. Emerson M. Bailey will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. December 9 at the Presbyterian Church in Rossville.

    Hosts will be their children, Gary and Linda Bailey, Wichita; John and Sharon Swan, Topeka; and Lanny and Phyllis Bailey, Silver Lake.

    Their grandchildren, Laura Bailey Johnson, Colorado Springs; Diane Bailey, Wichita; Melinda, Melissa and Mirl Swan, Topeka; and Scott, Kelly and Mathew, Silver Lake.

    Emerson Bailey and Edna Dean were married December 7,1934 at Topeka.

    EMERSON M. BAILEY
    Emerson M. Bailey, 77, Silver Lake, died Monday, January 19, 1987, at a Rossville nursing home.
    Mr. Bailey was a retired farmer.
    He was born November 29, 1909, at Silver Lake, the son of Mirl and Effie Day Bailey.
    He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Rossville and Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, and Loyal Chapter No. 176, Order of the Eastern Star, both at Silver Lake.
    He married Edna L. Dean on December 7, 1934, at Topeka. She survives.
    Other survivors include two sons, Gary G. Bailey, Wichita, and Lanny D. Bailey, rural Silver Lake; a daughter, Sharon K. Swan, Topeka; two brothers, Stanley Bailey, Silver Lake, and Lester Bailey, rural Delia; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
    Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mor¬tuary, followed by Masonic services. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Grove. The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial
