    RONALD J. HACKLER
    Ronald John Hackler, 64, 231 Waite, Topeka, died Thursday, October 27, 1983, at a Topeka hospital after an illness of two and one-half months. He was born April 30, 1919, at Hope, the son of John R. and Brydia Williams Hackler. He had lived in the Topeka area most of his life.

    Mr. Hackler graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army 1923rd Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation) in the European Theatre during World War II.

    He was general foreman of the City of Topeka’s Water Pollution Control when he retired on July 1, 1982. He was a member of the West Side Christian Church and Topeka Camping Club.

    He married Freda C. Keller on July 4, 1943, at Rossville. She survives at home.

    Other survivors include two sons, Steve C. Hackler, Missoula, Mont., and Roger J. Hackler, Topeka; and three grandchildren.

    The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, with Reverend Robert A. Langston, Jr., officiating. Special music “My God and I” and “How Great Thou Art’’ was provided by soloist Mrs. Kristi Tuchscherer and organist Richard M. Gayhart.

    Casket bearers were Dennis Keller, Howard Hoover, John Glidewell Jr., Gerald Raab, Rick Keller and Mark Keller. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Hackler will lie in state from 7 p.m. Saturday until service time at the mortuary where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
