  Documents		Marriage- Lysek, Agnes-Hafner, Lawrence Lysek-Hafner Wedding June 16 Miss Agnes Lysek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valen Lysek of Delia, became the bride of Mr. Lawrence Hafner, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hafner of Topeka, on Wednesday, June 16 at 8 o'clock at the Church of the Assumption. Msgr. Eugene F. Vallely read the double-ring ceremony before an alter decorated with palms, peach gladioli and white peonies. The tapers were lighted by Harley Russell and Jerry Slaybaugh. Mr. John Dale played the wedding music and accompaniments for Miss Janice Counelly who sang. Delores Dechand, niece of the groom, flower girl, wore a floor length yellow taffeta dress, matching head dress with a shoulder length veil and carried a basket of rose petals. Ronald Rezac, nephew of the bride was ring bearer and carried the rings on a satin pillow edged in lace. He was dressed in a white suit. The bride's gown, of white slipper satin, was fashioned with a round neck and square yoke finished with Venetian lace with shirred bodice, long sleeves. The full skirt showed a lace ruffled petticoat and extended into an aisle-wide train. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion, trimmed with Chantilly lace, feel from a beaded tiara. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white carnations. Her only ornament was a gold cross, a gift of the groom. The maid of honor, Miss Lorraine Lysek, sister of the bride, wore a lime brocade chiffon floor length gown with a round net yoke, fitted bodice, and a gathered skirt. She wore a matching head dress with a shoulder length veil and matching mitts. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses and carnations. Mrs. Harold Rezac, a bridesmaid, also a sister of the bride, wore an orchid gown styled like that of the maid of honor and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses and carnations. A wedding breakfast was served at the Jayhawk. The wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents. A three-tiered cake centered the table. Mrs. John Stum, Mrs. Frank Simecka, Mrs. Joe Frederick, and Miss Clara Mitchell assisted at the dinner. A wedding reception and dance [missing rest] [From 1948]

  Obituary- Hafner, Agnes Mrs. Agnes T. Hafner Mrs. Agnes T. Hafner, 63, 1505 N. Kansas, died Monday, Nov. 25, at her home. Mrs. Hafner worked for the State of Kansas as a clerk in the motor vehicle department before she retired earlier this year. She was born May 17, 1922, at Delia, the daughter of Valentine and Elizabeth Bravence Lysek. She moved to Topeka from the Delia area 45 years ago. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was married to Lawrence G. Hafner June 16, 1948, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Lawrence D. Hafner, Topeka; two daughters, Jeanette North, Topeka, and Joyce Scheckel, Salina; three sisters, Elsie Rezac, St. Marys, and Lorraine Lysek and Josephine Koci, both of Topeka; and seven grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Hafner will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Brennan Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.
