    MARIE HELEN HLADKY FREDERICK
    Marie Helen Hladky Frederick, 95, of Rossville went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 16 ,2011, at the Rossville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
    She was born Aug. 18, 1915, at her parent’s farm in Jackson County. She was the daughter of Emil and Anna Lysek Hladky. Marie was an only child. She attended country school.
    Marie was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing, traveling, dancing, playing cards and visiting with friends, neighbors and being with her family. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville. Mrs. Frederick was also a member of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 128 for 75 years. She received the Kansas Banker Association Soil Conservation Award in Jackson and Shawnee Counties.
    She was united in marriage to Joseph S. Frederick at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, Oct. 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1990. They were married 49 years and are now together again.
    To this union was born four children: Joseph, Marie, Donnie and Iona. Donnie preceded her in death in 1966.
    She was also preceded in death by twin great-granddaughters.
    Survivors include her son, Joseph L. (Joyce) Frederick, Topeka; daughters, Marie (George) Hamon, Topeka and Iona Frederick, Rossville; six granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; two step-great-great granddaughters; nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister-in-law and husband of Wisconsin and a brother-in-law of Overland Park.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville.
    Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
    Mrs. Frederick will lie in state after 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys, where there will be a rosary and prayer vigil at 5 p.m.
    Memorial contributions may be given to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church or the Arthritis Foundation and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.

    Marie Frederick of Rossville will celebrate her 90th birthday on Aug. 21 with an open house at the Rossville Senior Citizen Center. It will be from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    It will be given by her children and their spouses and their families.
