    Henry G. Frese
    Henry G. Frese, 97, Topeka, died Friday, April 8, 1988, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mr. Frese was manager of the farm loan department of Merchant’s National Bank from 1945 until he retired in 1952. He also was a partner in Industrial Savings and Loan in Topeka.

    He was president of Sunnyside Farm Loan Association, a branch of Federal Land Bank representing Shawnee County, in 1933. He was appointed chairman of Shawnee County corn, hog and wheat allotment program to aid drought stricken farmers. In 1935 he became a dealer for Allis-Chalmers Implement Co.

    He was born April 7, 1891, at Altenesch, near Bremen, Germany, the son of Capt. Hinrick and Anna Bunje Frese. He immigrated to America in 1904 and settled at Wisner, Neb. He lived in Topeka the past 48 years.

    Mr. Frese was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

    He was married to Lena P. Kaser in 1913 at Pender, Neb. She survives. A daughter, Alice Hubener, died in 1985.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Milligan, Topeka; a son, Clarence A. Frese, Adrian, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.

    Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Mon¬day in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
