F.M. Day
Francis Marion Day was born Jan. 21, 1860, at West Liberty, Kentucky and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ollie Bailey at Sil¬ver Lake, Kan., March 2, 1935, at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 9 days.
He was married to Abbie Hutchin¬son in 1884, and to this union were born seven children [missing part] three children preceded him in death. In 1908 he married Sytha Bailey and brought his bride to Kan¬sas, where he lived the remainder of his life. Of this union he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mollie Lewis of Morehead, Kentucky, and three sons, Stonewall Bailey, Merle Bailey and Ollie Bailey, all of Silver Lake. Also to mourn his loss are three daughters, Mrs. Effie Bailey, Mrs. Lizzie Reedy and Mrs. Ellen Bailey of Silver Lake, and one son, R.B. Day of Topeka, two brothers James Day and Peter Day of Ash¬land, Kentucky; eighteen grandchild¬ren and one great grandson.
He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.
Dear father, thou has left us
Your face we’ll see no more,
But hope to meet in Heaven
On that Celestial shore.
Funeral services were held Mon¬day afternoon at the Walnut Hill church. Burial was in the Walnut Hill cemetery.
