    Raymond Earl Hards
    HOLTON — Raymond Earl Hards, 75, Holton, died Friday, Oct. 17, at a Winchester hospital.

    Mr. Hards was a farm and construction laborer.

    He was born Feb. 21, 1911, on a farm in Jackson County, the son of Charles and Laura Darting Hards, and lived in Jackson County all his life.

    He married Twila Maxine Long in 1939. She died Jan. 18, 1973. He married Ida Harwood on Sept. 8, 1986, in Holton. She survives.

    Other survivors include a daughter, Mr. Opal Carver, Cowgill, Mo.; four sons, Gary Hards, Denison, Arthur Hards, Circleville, and William Hards and Ronald Hards, both of Holton; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Mansfield, St. Marys, and Mrs. Mary Darting, Paradise, Calif.; two brothers, Chester A. Hards and Leo Hards, both of Topeka; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Mayetta Cemetery.
