  Obituary- Hargis, Dewey ADMIRAL DEWEY HARGIS Admiral Dewey Hargis, 85, 4148 Emland Drive, died Monday, June 4, at his home after an apparent heart attack. Mr. Hargis, owned and operated A.D. Hargis Tire and Battery Co. at E. 6th and Quincy 34 years before he retired in 1961. He was born Oct. 26, 1898, at Science Hill, Ky., and spent most of his life in the Topeka area. He was a member of Central United Presbyterian Church in Topeka. He was married to Mildred Houck March 27, 1917. She died in 1980. Survivors include a son, Bernard M. Hargis, Topeka; a daughter, Esther L. McCorkle, Topeka; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Delia Cemetery, Delia. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
