| Anniversary- Hargis, Admiral and Mildred Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Hargis will be honored with a 60th wedding anniversary reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 27 in the Fontainebleau Apartments Clubhouse.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Hargis and Esther McCorkle, and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Hargis were married March 27. 1917 in Lawrence. Mr. Hargis was a Standard Oil dealer for 31 years before his retirement in 1963. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mildred Hargis, 84, Topeka, died Thursday, March 13, 1980, in a Topeka hospital following a short illness.
She was born August 6, 1895, near Delia, the daughter of L. T. and Annie Stalker Houck.
She had been a Topeka resident since 1925. She attended Central United Presbyterian Church and was a member of a local card club more than 50 years.
She was married March 27, 1917, to A. D. Hargis at Lawrence. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Bernard M. “Bud” Hargis, Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Esther McCorkill, Rossville; a brother, Howard E. Houck, Rossville: four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial was in Delia Cemetery, Delia. Memorial contributions may be mat to the American Cancer Society, 30 Van Buren, Topeka, 66611.
