    Dan Fundis
    BERRYTON — Dan E. Fundis, 64, Iola, formerly of Berryton, died Saturday, May 10,2003, at a Rossville care center.

    He was born April 12, 1939, in Aliceville in Coffey County, to Wesley and Hazel Gwinn Fundis, and graduated from LeRoy High School in LeRoy in 1957. He moved to the Topeka area in 1958. He was employed as a mechanic at the DuPont and Flexel plants for 36 years before he retired in 1993. He moved to Iola in 1996.

    He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola.
    He married Sharon Storrer on June 5, 1959, in LeRoy. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Douglas Fundis, Berryton, and Galen Fundis, Conway, Ark.; a daughter, Cindy Smith, Leawood: his mother, Hazel Fundis, Iola: a brother, Edward Fundis, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Merridith Kimberlin, Chanute, and Roxie Rochat, Austin, Texas; and four grandchildren.

    Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Berryton. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berryton. Mr. Fundis will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel Funeral Home in Topeka, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
