Emily Vacek, daughter of John and Sophia Vacek, was born December 8, 1879 of Czech parents in Poland. She passed away Saturday, December 30, 1950, lacking a few days of being 72 years old.
She came to this country in 1892 with her parents and has resided in this community until her death.
She was united in marriage to Geo. E. Hejtmanek on May 10, 1905, to which union was born two sons.
She united with the Presbyterian Church early in her childhood, and her life exemplified the true teachings of Christ.
Her interests were in her family and flowers. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two sisters, Marie L. Vacek of Gardena, Calif.; and Mrs. Frank Hejtmanek of Delia; one brother, Slavomir Vacek of Blaine Kansas; two sons, Glenous G. Hejtmanek, of Wichita, and Milan J. of Delia; two granddaughters, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tues¬day at 2:00 p. m. at the Delia Presbyterian church, with burial in the Moravian Cemetery northeast of Rossville.
