    William Daniel Hill
    ROSSVILLE — Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rossville Cemetery for William Daniel Hill, 91, Rossville. He died Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at a Rossville nursing home.

    Mr. Hill worked for the Rock Island Railroad, Sears and Roebuck and Wild Willies before he retired.

    He was born July 20, 1903, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of William James and Ida Sauer Hill.

    Mr. Hill attended Wamego Assembly of God.

    He was married to Lula Dannefer Aug. 12, 1941, in Washington D.C. She died Nov. 21, 1974. He was married to Evelyn Guyle July 22, 1977, at Rossville. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, William Gary Hill; two stepdaughters, Janice Dieter, Rossville, and Peggy Manning, Scranton; four stepsons, Steven Guyle, Rossville, Phillip Guyle and David Guyle, both of Topeka, and Daniel Guyle, Mayetta; two grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; four foster grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Mr. Hill will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in Rossville, where relatives and friends will meet from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville Rescue First Responders, Shawnee County Fire District No. 3, Box 756, Rossville, 66533.

    William Daniel Hill
    William Daniel Hill, 91, Rossville, died Thursday, January 16, 1995, at a Rossville nursing home. He was born July 20, 1903, at St. Joseph, Mo., the son of William James and Ida Sauer Hill.

    He worked for Rock Island Railroad, Sears and Roebuck, and Wild Willies before retiring. He attended Wamego Assembly of God Church.

    He was married to Lula Dannefer in Washington D.C. August 12, 1941. She died November 21, 1974. He married Evelyn Guyle at Rossville July 22, 1977. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, William Gary Hill; a niece, Nancy McClain, Horton; two stepdaughters, Janice Deiter, Rossville, and Peggy Manning, Scranton; four stepsons, Steven Guyle, Rossville, Philip Guyle and David Guyle, both of Topeka, and Daniel Guyle, Mayetta; two grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; four foster grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three great-nephews; and two great-nieces.

    Graveside services were Saturday afternoon at Rossville Cemetery with the Rev. Max Manning and the Rev. Pat Herlitz officiating. Interment followed the service. Memorials may be made to the Rossville Rescue First Responders, Shawnee County Fire District #4, Box 756, Rossville 66533. The Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
