    Robert B. Hoferer Sr.
    ST. MARYS- Robert B. Hoferer Sr., age 91, of St. Marys, Kansas died Tuesday, October 12, 2005 at the St. Marys Community Hospital.

    He was born October 30, 1913 in Wamego, Kansas,, the son of Charles and Ada Goodman Hoferer.

    He had lived in the Sandy Hook community many years.

    He grew up in the Wamego community and attended Red Top School and St. Bernard Catholic School. Mr. Hoferer was a farmer and stockman. He did custom farm work and had been a truck driver for Riss and Company for several years. Robert was a school bus driver for St. Marys Grade School. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wamego before he moved to St. Marys where he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No 657. He was a member of the Red Poll Cattle Assn. at Lincoln, NE.

    He was married to Margaret M. Graf on April 15, 1942 at St. Marys.
    Immediate survivors, his wife Margaret of the home; a son, Robert B. Hoferer, Jr. St. Marys; a daughter, Mary Lou Wells, St. Marys; three sisters, Margaret Reilly, Marie Cain and Patricia Grill, all of Topeka; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.

    Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.

    He will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Where there will be a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 P.M.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
