Edward Macha and Mary Hobart were married in Herington October 4, 1942, when Edward was serving in the U.S. Navy and was home on leave; Mary was in nursing school at Halstead. They moved to Rossville in 1954, where they raised five sons and two daughters. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Macha, Rossville, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoferer, Sr., St. Marys. The bride wore a floor-length nile green chiffon over taffeta gown with an empire waistline accented by floral braid, shirred skirt, stand-up collar, and cuffed lantern sleeves. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, miniature carnations and white daises. Mrs. Dan Braum, Manhattan, was matron of honor. Best man was Frank DeDonder, St. Marys. Ushers were Bill Macha and Chuck Macha, brothers of the bride. A reception at the Rossville Community Center followed the ceremony. After a wedding trip to the southwest states, the couple is at home in St. Marys. Mrs. Hoferer was graduated from Rossville High School and Providence Hospital School of Nursing and was recently employed by the Community Blood Center of Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Hoferer is a graduate of St. Marys High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is employed by McCall Pattern Co., Manhattan.
