    Horace H. Holder
    WAMEGO — Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Stewart Funeral Home here for Horace H. Holder, 74, Wamego, who died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1992, at his home.

    Mr. Holder had worked for the Topeka Supply Depot, later was marshal at Rossville, was named chief of police in 1962 at Wamego, then worked from 1969 until he retired for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

    He was an Army veteran of World War II.

    He was born May 13, 1918, at Havensville, the son of Hugh and Elsa Lee Holder.

    Mr. Holder was a member of the Christian Church in Rossville, Harold Johnson Post No. 172 of the American Legion in Wamego, and a past member of Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, in Rossville.

    He was married to Lauretta M. Warrington on Sept. 5, 1941, in Bastrop, Texas. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Horace H. Holder II, Fulton, N.Y., and Steven A. Holder, Topeka; and eight grandchildren.

    Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery. Mr. Holder will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where family and friends will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Contributions may be made to the Horace Holder Memorial Fund to be designated at a later time by relatives and left with the funeral home.
