    United After Forty Five Years
The departure of L. J. Hollenbeck today for New York state will mean the re-marriage of Mr. Hollenbeck and his first wife on his arrival at Preston Hollow. Over forty-five years ago the Hollenbecks separated. Mrs. Hollenbeck and a daughter remained in the old home, and Mr. Hollenbeck and his son Wilsie came to Kansas. Years after coming to Kansas Len married again, his last wife dying about a year ago. The first wife never married. Continued pleading from the daughter has resulted in her parents deciding to remarry and pass their declining years together. Mr. Hollenbeck is seventy six and the former wife seventy- three.

LEONARD J. HOLLENBECK PASSED AWAY APRIL 28

Leonard J. Hollenbeck, died April 28, at a hospital in Albany, New York, after a brief illness. News of his death came to Rossville relatives the latter part of the week from his daughter, Mrs. G.R. Theilen, of Preston Hollow, Albany county, N.Y. with whom he had been living since the death of her mother, Mr. Hollenbeck's first wife. According to Mrs. Theilen's letter, Mr. Hollenbeck had been in good physical health up to the last year of his life. His mind was good to the last hour of his life. He was 88 years old.

Mr. Hollenbeck came to Rossville when in his early 30's and lived here for about 40 years. He had divorced his first wife in New York before coming here. Two children were born to this union, a son and daughter. The son Wilsie, afterward came to Rossville and lost his life in a tragic brawl in a local saloon where he was shot to death by a negro.

Mr. Hollenbeck married Mrs. Margaret Stephenson here. A time after her death his first wife plead for his return to her in New York, and about 9 1/2 years ago he went back.

Mr. Hollenbeck was highly respected here, being scrupulously honest and a good citizen. He conducted a wagon woodworking shop for many years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 1, and his body interred in the cemetery at Preston Hollow.
