  Obituary- Holmes, Ricky Ricky Holmes ROSSVILLE – Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka for Ricky L. Holmes, 41, Rossville, who died Saturday, March 26, 1994, at a Topeka hospital. An autopsy was performed to determine cause of death, but results were unavailable Sunday. He was born Aug. 26, 1952, in Topeka, the son of Lyman E. and Dorothy W. Mickens Holmes, attended schools in Highland Park and was graduated from Topeka Highland Park High School in 1970. He attended vocational-technical school in Topeka. He was a maintenance mechanic for a Payless Shoe store in Topeka 18 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Holmes. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Holmes, at home; a son, Todd A. Holmes, Silver Lake; two stepsons, Mike Bloomer and Bryan Bloomer, both in Rossville; a stepdaughter, Aliesha Bloomer, Rossville; and a grandmother, Hazel McCullough, Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Mr. Holmes will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
