Mr. and Mrs. Hammond J. Hoover, R.R. 6, Punzo Road, St. Joseph, Mo., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on February 24.
They were married by the Rev. James Powell on February 24, 1928, in the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gardner, Kansas City, Ks.
The Hoovers lived in Delia for a number of years before moving to Missouri.
Their children are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin D. Hoover and Mr. and Mrs. Raphael D. Hoover. There are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. All live in Rushville, Mo.

| Obituary- Hoover, Hammond Hammond J. Hoover
Hammond James Hoover, 84, St. Joseph, Mo., died Saturday, January 20, 1990, at his home. The son of the late L. Hammond and Catherine King Hoover, he was born October 13, 1905, in Buchanan County in Cono Township, la. He attended schools in Quasqueton, Ia. He was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church.
Mr. Hoover moved to Delia in 1925, where he farmed with his father. He married Mary G. Gardner February 24, 1928. The family moved to De Kalb, Mo. in 1943, then to St. Joseph, Mo. in 1945.
Mr. Hoover worked as a warehouse groceryman for Affiliated Foods for 23 years before retiring in 1975.
Other survivors include two sons, Alvin D and Raphael D„ Rushville, Mo.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two nieces.
Services were held January 22, at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Mo. Entombment was in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
