    Mr. and Mrs. Ignac Horak celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 9th, at their home in Delia. Mr. and Mrs. Horak observed the occasion quietly with close relation and friends from the surrounding area.

    Delia couple observes 50th anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Ignac Horak of Delia quietly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. Only close relation and friends joined them for the occasion.

    Ignac Horak was married to Veronica Hejtmanek on November 8, 1908, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. Mr. Horak came to the United States in May, 1912, and Mrs. Horak and their two children followed six months later in November.

    They are parents of eight children including one set of twins, Mrs. Rose Davis, Bakerfield, California; Rudy Horak, Taft, California; Albert Horak, Grover City, California; Irene Collett, Camas, Washington; Eddie Horak, Trip City, Ohio; Bennie Horak and Emily Dodge of Delia; and Esther Wehner of Rossville. There are 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Mr. Horak worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years and is now retired. He is at present janitor for the Delia Grade School.

Mrs. Theresa Hromada and Mrs. George Olejnik are sisters of Mrs. Ignac Horak.

    Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 1998 at Brimhall Road Assembly of God Church, 10700 Brimhall Rd. for Rudolph Earl Horack, 87, who passed away March 11, 1998 in Bakersfield, CA. Private interment to follow. Reverend Steven Yeary will officiate.

    Mr. Horack was born November 7, 1910 in Czechoslovakia, and had been a resident of Taft and Bakersfield for the past 61 years. He was a member of Bakersfield's First Assembly of God Church and had served on the Deacon Board and Men’s Ministries. He had been employed for 25 years at Tosco Refinery, retiring in 1976. He was lovingly known as "Papa” by his family and friends.

    Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Ignac and Veronica Horack, his beloved wife of 54 years, Frances, and his sister, Rose Da: vis. Survivors include daughters, Earleene Yeary of Plano, TX., Sylvia Noble and husband Bill of Sacramento; son, Dennis and wife Joan of Bakersfield; brothers, Albert Horack of Oakhurst, CA., Bennie Horack of Delia, KS., Eddie. Horack of New Paris, OH.; sisters, Emily Dodge of Delia, KS., Irene Collett of Camas, WA., and Esther Wehner of Rossville, KS.; grandchildren, Steven Yeary of Bakersfield, Jan Yeary of Plano, TX., Julie Pennington of Antioch, Jarrod Short of Sacramento, Cameron Short of Sunnyvale, Lori Honea of Bakersfield; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Tiffany, and Joe Year,. Kaylee and Justin Honea of Bakersfield and Spenser Pennington of Antioch.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brimhall Road Assembly of God Mission Program.

    Rudolph Earl Horack
    Rudolph Earl Horack, 87, Bakersfield, CA, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998.

    Mr. Horack was born November 7, 1910, in Czechoslovakia, the son of Ignac and Veronica Horak. He had been a resident of Taft and Bakersfield, Calif., for the past 61 years.     A memorial service was held Saturday at Brimhall Road Assembly of God Church, Bakersfield. Private interment followed.

    Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary Funeral directors were in charge of arrangements.
