He served in the United States Army from 1962-1965. Hurren became a United States Citizen in 1966. He married Judith Way in October 1966 in Beloit, Kansas. Jim is survived by brother, Robert (Phyllis) Hurren, 3 nieces & 2 nephews, Estevan, Saskatchewan, a son, Jamy (Michelle) Hurren, Salina, Kansas & a daughter Jodi (Dusty) Porter, Rossville, & 5 grandchildren.
