| Obituary- James, Charles W. Charles W. James
Charles William James was born in Trappe, Maryland, October 5, 1853. When he was a small child, his parents moved to Indiana where they lived for ten years and in 1868, in company with 25 other families, they came by covered wagon to Kansas, locating first at Tecumseh, and in April, 1871, came to Rossville. With the exception of a few years in Stafford County, he had lived in Shawnee County until 1933 when he went to San Francisco to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Dora Lutz, where he died after a short illness, May 26, 1945.
Besides his daughter he is survived by two sons, Ray, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carl, of California; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. Chettie Kassebaum of Topeka, Mrs. Gus Kassebaum of Rossville, and a number of nieces and nephews.

BURIAL SERVICE FOR CHARLEY W. JAMES
The cremated remains of Charles W. James who died in San Francisco May 26, were received Monday. Graveside services conducted by Rev. N.P. Olney, of the Presbyterian church were held Tuesday afternoon with interment in Rossville cemetery.
