| Obituary- James, William d. 1952 William James
William “Red” James of 217 Branner street, Topeka, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital.
He was born May 18, 1901, at Rossville, and spent all his early years in this community while attending school. He had been a resident of Topeka since 1929 while employed by the Santa Fe railroad in the machine shop during the past ten years.
During World War II he served in an artillery unit.
Survivors include his father, C. E. James of Rossville; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Somers, 1724 Central Park Topeka, and Mrs. Vina McCoid, Rossville.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 2 p. m. at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary with burial in Rossville Cemetery.
