    JOHN D. JOHNSTON
    John D. Johnston, 60, Union Pacific station agent here for the past 10 years, died Friday in a Marysville hospital. Mr. Johnston was born April 22, 1897, at Irving and lived in that community most of his life. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, and a charter member of the American Legion Post at Irving.

    Surviving are his wife, Clara, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Skoch of Hutchinson; two brothers, Lee Johnston of Irving, and Fred Johnston of West Point, Texas, and three sisters, Mrs. Fay Foster of Blue Rapids, Mrs. Nellie Stiles of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. Alice Hubbard of Tecumseh.

    Funeral services were at 8 am Monday at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Irving, with burial at Marysville. Perry Funeral Home of Blue Rapids was in charge.
