    Melvin E. Jorgenson
    Melvin E. Jorgenson, 69, Delia, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at a Topeka hospital.

    Mr. Jorgenson was born in Greenleaf, October 8, 1930, the son of Hans and Nina Ramsey Jorgenson.

    He has lived in Delia die past 27 years, moving from Lyndon. Mr. Jorgenson was a heavy equipment operator and later was a su-perintendent for Hamm’s Construction in Perry for a total of 28 years, retiring in 1992.

    He was a member of the Lutheran faith and the Operating Engineer’s Local #101.

    On May 14, 1948, he married Joann Cope in Belleville. She survives.

    Other survivors include one son, Dan Jorgenson, Perry; one daughter, Judy Blush, Delia; three sisters, Dorothy Basel, Netawaka, Joyce Wahlgemuth, Davis, CA, and Beulah Meade, Topeka; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ward Funeral Home in Washington, KS. His service was at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ward Funeral Home; interment followed in the Washington City Cemetery.
