ROSSVILLE — Donald R. Henneke, 61, Rossville, died Monday, Sept, 18, 2000, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Henneke owned and operated D-G Auto Electric Rebuilders in Rossville. He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1959.
He was born Feb. 9, 1939, at Houston, Texas, the son of Alvin Paul and Joyce Edgley Henneke. He was raised in Texas, and he had lived in Rossville since 1982.
Mr. Henneke was a member of the Christian Church, Wymore Lodge No. 423 AF&AM, Wymore, Texas, and the Houston, Texas, Consistory. He was a former member of the Houston IOOF and several trade organizations.
He married Grace I. Baird on March 12, 1965, in Houston. She died Dec. 13, 1988. He later married Joan E. Hladky on April 21, 1989, at Rossville. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Nicole Henneke, at home; four stepdaughters, Karen Neal, Humble, Texas, Charlotte Ann Koop, Los Angeles, and Penny Jenkins and Crystal Brown, both of Topeka; two stepsons, Marc Failer, Paxico, and Michael Failer, Emmett; a sister, Nancy Henneke Henry, Alvin, Texas; 13 stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Henneke will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.

His service was at 10 a.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial with military honors conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, Rossville, was in the Rossville Cemetery. A family visitation was held at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
