    The marriage of Miss Stella Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Thompson of Delia, to Mr. Harold Herrington, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Herrington of Silver Lake, took place at the home of the bride’s parents on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, at 8 o’clock, with the Rev. Dennison, pastor of the Methodist church at Silver Lake, officiating

    They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Byron Herrington, brother and sister-in-law of the groom.

    The Misses Christina, Emma and Ina Thompson, sisters of the bride, sang as a trio, “I Love You Truly.”

    The bride wore a dress of navy blue crepe and carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses and Maiden hair fern.

    Mrs. Herrington has been employed for the past few years as telephone operator at Silver Lake. Mr. Herrington has been farming in the vicinity of Silver Lake.

    They will make their home on a farm east of Topeka.

    Open House to Honor Anniversary

    An open house will be held Sunday, February 28, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Herrington on the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary. The open house will be at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Herrington at Silver Lake.

    Friends and relatives are invited to call between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m.

    Harry Herrington
    SILVER LAKE - Harry J. Herrington, 60, Silver Lake, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at his home.

    Mr. Herrington farmed in the Silver Lake area for his entire life.

    He Was born Oct. 25, 1941, in Silver Lake, the son of Harold and Stella Thompson Herrington. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1960.

    He married Anne Reaka on Jan. 5, 1963, in Topeka. They were divorced.

    Survivors include four sons, Todd Herrington, Wellington, Rodney Herrington, Emmett, Duane Herrington, St. Marys, and Dwight Herrington, Topeka; three daughters, Julie Veatch, Lenexa, Amy Herrington, Topeka, and Sara Herrington, Lawrence; and three granddaughters.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Horne in St. Marys. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery. Mr. Herrington will lie in state at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today, where relatives and friends will meet until 7 p.m.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Stormont-Vail Home Health Care and sent in Care of the funeral home.

    Harry J. Herrington, 60, Silver Lake, died Friday, September 20, 2002, at his rural Silver Lake home.

    He was born October 25, 1941, in Silver Lake, the son of Harold and Stella Thompson Herrington, and lived in the Silver Lake community all of his life. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1960. He was a farmer.

    On January 5, 1963, he married Anne Reaka in Topeka. They were divorced; she lives in Topeka.

    Other survivors include four sons. Todd Herrington, Wellington, Rodney Herrington, Emmett, Duane Herrington, St. Marys, and Dwight Herrington, Topeka; three daughters, Julie Veatch, Lenexa, Amy Herrington. Topeka, and Sara Herrington, Lawrence; and three granddaughters.

    His service was at 10 a.m. Monday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys 66536. Burial was in the Silver Lake Cemetery. A family visitation was Sunday evening at the funeral home.
