    Kenneth L. Bateman

    Rossville—Kenneth L. Bateman, 81, Rossville, died Thursday at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born June 5, 1898, near Havensville, and moved from Havensville to Topeka about five years ago.

    Mr. Bateman farmed in the Cairo [sic Kiro] area before retiring about 15 years ago.

    He was a member of Havensville United Methodist Church.

    He was married to Alta Robinson in September 1918. She died in 1970. He was married to Mrs. Ora Bixby Aug. 12, 1971, at Lyndon. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Vincent Bateman, at home; a stepson, Charles Bixby, Chehalis, Wash.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Naomi Moritz, Silver Lake; a sister, Mrs. Marion Brown, Santa Cruz, Calif., and two grandchildren.

    Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, Topeka, 66606.
