Joseph M. Kalcik, 84, Silver Lake, died Monday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Jan. 12.
He was born March 18, 1887, near Emmett and spent most of his life in the Silver Lake and Grove communities. He was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church. He had been a farmer.
He was married to Carrie Slansky Nov. 1, 1915, at Stockton. She died in 1947.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert Kalcik, at home, and Raymond Kalcik, Mayetta; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Hoover, Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Marjorie Bergmann, Vermillion; a brother, Edward Kalcik, Scranton; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Saia, Emmett, and Mrs. Emma Funstad, Silver Lake; 19 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake. Burial wll be in Walnut Hill Cemetery north of Silver Lake. Mr. Kalcik will lie in state after 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson-Duff Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. |
