Clyde H. Kampschroeder, 78, Lawrence, died Saturday, May 23, 1992, of injuries suffered in a tractor accident near his home west of Lawrence.
Mr. Kampschroeder was foreman of the cabinet shop at the Reuter Organ company before he retired in 1978. He had worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in DeSoto during World War II.
He was born November 10, 1913, in Stull, the son of Ernest and Rose Lutz Kampschroeder. He grew up in Stull where he attended Mound School.
Mr. Kampschroeder was a member of First Christian Church, Mount Oread Aerie No. 39 of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks Lodge, and Lawrence Gem and Mineral Club, all in Lawrence, and the Lecompton Historical Society. He was a life member of the Lane Museum in Lecompton.
He was married to Mildred A. Lavin June 28, 1940, in Topeka. She died April 14, 1965. He was married to Helen G. Wilt May 1, 1967, in Lawrence. She survives. A stepson, Robert Wilt, died in 1975.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Wulfkuhle, Lecompton, and Rhonda Baker, Winchester; a stepdaughter, Linda Wood, Rossville; three sisters, Irene Kennedy and Violet Kennedy, both of Overbrook, and Alta Walter, Lecompton; three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Rumsey Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Lawrence.
