    Mrs. Chettie Kassebaum
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Chettie James Kassebaum, 98, who died Monday night at her home, 4712 W. 6th.

    She was born Dec. 25, 1876, at Rossville, the daughter of Edward and Sarah James. She lived at Rossville several years and later at 1212 Mulvane in Topeka many years. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church at Rossville and later was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Topeka. She also was a member of the Golden Circle at the Topeka church.

    She was married to Edward Kassebaum March 17,1897. He died in 1938.

    A daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Johns, at home, survives.

    Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Kassebaum will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home until noon Thursday after which the casket will remain closed. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, 66606, or to the Presbyterian Manor, 4712 W. 6th, 66606.

    Mrs. Chettie James Kassebaum, 98, 4712 W. 6th, Topeka, died Monday, September 22, 1975 at the Presbyterian Manor after a short illness.

    Mrs. Kassebaum was born December 25, 1876 in Rossville. She was married to Edward Kassebaum March 17, 1897.

    Mr. and Mrs. Kassebaum owned several farms in the Kaw Valley until 1922 when they moved to 1212 Mulvane where they lived for many years. He preceded, her in death in 1938.

    She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

    Mrs. Kassebaum is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Johns, of the home.

    Services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Heart Association, 5229 W, 7th, Topeka, Ks., 66606, or the Topeka Presbyterian Manor, 4712 W. 6th, Topeka, Ks., 66606.

    Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.
