    Golden anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Keller, Delia, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary by holding open house Sunday, March 8, at their farm home north of Delia.

    Relatives and friends are invited to call between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. The couple request no gifts.

    Hosts for the occasion will be the couple’s children: Philip W. Keller, John Vernon Keller, Mrs. Geneva Fairbanks, Mrs. Naomi Sumner, Delia, and Mrs. Wanda Parr, Rossville. They have 13 grandchildren.

    Mr. Lindsay Vance Keller and Miss Emma Mullinix drove from the Cross Creek district to Holton in a spring wagon, accompanied by Miss Gladys King and Mr. Levi Keller, and were united in marriage at the home of Rev. S. A. Fulton, Presbyterian pastor. They lived six years in the Cross Creek district, then moved to their farm at Delia, where they have lived 44 years.

    Kellers Celebrate 60th Anniversary

    The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Lin and Emma Keller, gathered in their home in Rossville, Ks., to honor this couple on their 60th anniversary on Sunday, March 3. The family tree includes five children (pictured with their parents), thirteen grandchildren, and (to date) five great-grandchildren.

    Mr. and Mrs. Keller were married in Holton, Ks., on March 4, 1914. Their attendants were Mr. Levi Keller and Miss Gladys King (McDaniel). They spent most of their married life on their farm northeast of Delia until their retirement nearly six years ago.

    Reception Honors Couple—Mr. and Mrs. John Vernon Keller, Rossville, were the guests of honor at a surprise reception in their home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Keller will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Dec. 17.

    John Kellers Surprised with Anniversary Party

    Mr. and Mrs. John Vernon Keller, Rossville, were honored with a surprise 35th wedding anniversary party on Saturday, November 29. The party was given by their children -- Skip and Karen Keller, Roger and Bonnie Bush, Mick and Jan Keller, and Dave and Connie Jeanneret.

    The evening was spent playing cards and visiting.     John Vernon Keller and Bonnie Groff were married Dec. 17, 1945, in Topeka.

    They are the parents of Skip and Karen Keller, Emmett; Bonnie and Roger Bush, and Mick Keller, all of Rossville; and Connie and Don Mulanax, St. Marys. They have nine grandchildren.

    Mr. Keller is retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Mrs. Keller previously worked for the Kaw Valley USD 321 food services and Channel’s Grocery.

    JOHN VERNON KELLER
    John Vernon Keller, Rossville, 86, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at a Topeka hospital.

    He was born June 19, 1921, at Delia, the son of Lindsay Vance “Lynn” and Emma Mullinix Keller. He grew up in the Delia community and graduated from Delia High School in 1939. Mr. Keller served in the United States Navy during WWII.

    Mr. Keller was engaged in farming and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka from 1954 until he retired in 1985. He lived in the Delia community and then in Rossville from 1966 until moving to Topeka in 2005. He was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church. The United Rubber Workers Union No. 307, Delia Masonic Lodge No. 418 AF/AM and Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post No 31 at Rossville.

    He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cindy Lee Keller, a daughter, Bonnie Ellen Bush and by a brother, Phillip Keller.

    On Dec. 17,1945, he was united in marriage to Bonnie G. Groff at Topeka. She survives at the home.

    Other survivors include a daugh-ter, Connie Sue (Don) Mulanax, Emmett; two sons, Lindsay “Skip” (Karen) Keller, Emmett and Michael V. Keller, Rossville; a son-in-law, Roger Bush, Rossville; three sisters, Wanda Parr, Naomi Sumner and Geneva Fairbanks, all of Topeka; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 7, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys.

    Interment was in the Delia Cemetery where military graveside services were conducted by Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 and Delia Lodge conducted Masonic graveside services.

    Memorial contributions may be given to Jimmie Lillard Post No 31 of the American Legion and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.
