Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Keller of Delia were surprised Monday evening for their 49th wedding anniversary. Callers were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Keller and family, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Sumner and family, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Parr and family and Mrs. Chris Thompson.

Golden anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Keller, Delia, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary by holding open house Sunday, March 8, at their farm home north of Delia.

Relatives and friends are invited to call between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. The couple request no gifts.

Hosts for the occasion will be the couple’s children: Philip W. Keller, John Vernon Keller, Mrs. Geneva Fairbanks, Mrs. Naomi Sumner, Delia, and Mrs. Wanda Parr, Rossville. They have 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Lindsay Vance Keller and Miss Emma Mullinix drove from the Cross Creek district to Holton in a spring wagon, accompanied by Miss Gladys King and Mr. Levi Keller, and were united in marriage at the home of Rev. S. A. Fulton, Presbyterian pastor. They lived six years in the Cross Creek district, then moved to their farm at Delia, where they have lived 44 years.

Kellers Celebrate 60th Anniversary

The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Lin and Emma Keller, gathered in their home in Rossville, Ks., to honor this couple on their 60th anniversary on Sunday, March 3. The family tree includes five children (pictured with their parents), thirteen grandchildren, and (to date) five great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Keller were married in Holton, Ks., on March 4, 1914. Their attendants were Mr. Levi Keller and Miss Gladys King (McDaniel). They spent most of their married life on their farm northeast of Delia until their retirement nearly six years ago.

Lynn Keller was born Dec. 19, 1890, at Phillipsburg, the son of Alfred and Celeste McAllister Keller. He lived in the Delia area from 1895 until 1968 when he moved to Rossville. Mr. Keller was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Delia. He was a charter member of Delia Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, where he had been awarded a 50-year pin He had been treasurer of the Lincoln Township Board. He married Emma Mullinix [sic] March 4, 1914, in Holton. She died April 24, 1980. Survivors include two sons, Philip W. Keller, Topeka, and John V. Keller, Rossville; three daughters, Wanda J. Parr, Delia, and Naomi R. Sumner and Geneva Fairbanks, both of Rossville; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Christian Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Delia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. By some men's standards, I am poor. I count life's worth in a dif¬ferent way. Not for me, — gold, or priceless jewels, or paintings rare, or mountains, or furs; or vintage cars; yet, I am rich! I have walked in the mystery of a foggy morning when the familiar seems unknown. And, in the October woods when the trees are painted red and gold. I have felt the caress of the first snow flake in the silence of winter, and enjoyed the warmth of a crackling fire and a mug of cocoa shared with a friend. 		Birthday- Keller, Lindsay 2 The Hugh Fairbanks Hosted Triple Celebration A very special gathering took place Sunday, December 20, honoring the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the 91st birthday of Lindsay Vance Keller, and the homecoming from Guatemala of KelLee Ray Parr. Mr. Keller’s five children, 13 grandchildren, and 19 of his 20 greatgrandchildren were present. There was a total of 58 people to enjoy the happy day. Those who came to honor both Mr. Keller and KelLee were: Philip Keller and Lillian, Topeka; John Vernon Keller and Bonnie, Rossville; their sons -- Lindsay “Skip” Keller and Karen and their children Cindy, Mark and Crystal, Emmett, and Michael Keller, Rossville; their daughter, Bonnie E. Bush, Becky and Mike, Rossville. Connie and David Jeanneret, Heidi, Eric and the twins, Erin Lindsay and John David, Onaga. Beth, the only missing member of the immediate family, was sick with the flu. Leroy Parr and Wanda, Delia, and their daughters Jane, Wichita, Janice Nash and Lewis with Lewis III “Bo”, Dallas, Tex., and KelLee Ray Parr. Naomi Sumner, her son Randy Sumner and Gloria with Matthew; her daughter -- Leslie Paine with Terrie Leigh and Katie; Karen Leeper with Micah and Misty; Anita Olson and Jacob with Amber, all of Rossville. Hugh and Geneva Fairbanks; their daughter Cherrie DeB acker and Randy with Jason and Travis, all of Rossville; and their son Douglas Fairbanks and Donola with Holly, Brad and Ryan, Delia. Special dinner guests were Howard and Elizabeth Houck, Rossville; Eugene Thompson, Topeka; and Donald and Vena Mae Thompson, Delia.
