Mr. and Mrs. William L. Smith, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1992, at the Rossville Community Center. Hosts will be their children: William, Jr., and Genita Smith, Dallas, Tex.; Stuart and Diane Smith, Madison, Fla.; Kenneth Smith, Kenneth and Mary Kelly, Randall and Jeanette Vogel, Walter and Julie Smith, all of Topeka. The couple requests no gifts, please.
Bill and Alice have 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
William Smith retired from Goodyear after 40 years of service.

Memorial services were Sunday at Penwell- Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home for Mary E. Kelly, 56, Topeka, who died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born June 24,1942, in Manhattan, to Kenneth Waldo and Elizabeth Louis Crumb, and was adopted by Bill and Alice Smith. She graduated from Rossville High School. She had worked for Security Benefit Trust and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
She married Bud Taylor. They divorced. She married Kenneth W. Kelly Jr. on Dec. 22,1978, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include sons, Jeff Taylor, Topeka, and Buddy Taylor, Lawrence; a. daughter, Marti Clark, Topeka; a stepson, Brad Kelly, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Kelly Woodard, Topeka; her mother, Alice Smith, Rossville; brothers, Bill Smith Jr., Kenneth Smith and Stuart Smith, all in Topeka, Walter Smith, Mayetta, and Lee Wicks, Butler, Mo.; sisters, Jeanette Vogel, Topeka, and Pam Scott, Phoenix; and 9 grandchildren.
Mrs. Kelly was cremated.
