    James “Jim” Kolde
    WAMEGO- James “Jim" Kolde, 65, of Wamego passed away Tues., September 1st, 2009 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

    He was born on October 11, 1943 in Paxico, Kansas, the son of Raymond “Doc” and Leola E. (Hesse) Kolde. Jim graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1961. He served in the Navy on the USS Forrester. Jim was a member of the Local 441 (Pipefitters Union) of Topeka and was a journeyman for 42 years. Survivors include: his sons, Jason and Shane, Wamego, KS, Chad and wife Jessica of Atlanta, GA, his mother, Leola Kolde of St. Marys, KS, his brothers Bob of St. Marys, KS and Rick of Belvue, KS, his sisters, Dorothy Hoobler and husband Kenny of St. Marys, KS, Mary Miller and husband Dennis of St. Marys, KS, Barb Leeper and husband Mick of Topeka, KS, and Theresa Webb and husband Ron of Silver Lake, KS, and his many nieces, nephews and special friend Linda Springer. Jim was preceded in death by his father Raymond “Doc” Kolde and his sister Eileen.

    A mass of Christian burial will be September 4th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego. The Rosary will be said Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Memorials are to Midland Hospice House left in care of the funeral home, P.O.     JAMES “JIM” KOLDE
    James “Jim” Kolde, 65, of Wamego died Tuesday Sept. 1, 2009, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

    Born on Oct. 11,1943, in Paxico, he was the son of Raymond “Doc” and Leola E. (Hesse) Kolde. He attended Newbury and St. Marys Grade Schools and later graduated from St. Marys High School in 1961.

    Jim proudly served his country with the United States Navy from October 1961 through September 1964.

    In 1967 he married Linda Harris. The couple divorced. He later married Barbara Anne Jones in 1988. They later divorced. Jim was a member of the Local 441 (Pipefitters Union) of Topeka and was a journeyman for 42 years. He was also a member of the American Legion (Blackjack Post), the NRA, and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He also liked working on old machinery, winemaking and was a skilled handyman.

    His survivors include his sons Jason Kolde, of Wamego, Chad Kolde and wife Jessica of Atlanta, Ga., and Shane Kolde of Wamego; his mother, Leola Kolde of St. Marys; his special friend, Linda Springer; his brothers Bob Kolde of St. Marys, and Rick Kolde of Belvue; his sisters Dorothy Hoobler and husband Kenny of St. Marys, Mary Miller and husband Dennis of St. Marys, Barb Leeper and husband Mick of Topeka, and Theresa Webb and husband Ron of Silver Lake; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and his sister Eileen.
