    Virden J. ‘Ted’ Kolzow
    SALINA — Virden J. "Ted" Kolzow, 81, Salina, died Tuesday. Dec. 10, at a Salina nursing home.

    Mr. Kolzow was a teacher and coach at Silver Lake High School about 30 years. He later was a teacher and coach at Center High School in Marion County several years and at Wichita County High School in Leoti three years. He retired in 1972 and moved to Salina.

    He was born June 12. 1904, at Hope, the son of John and Myrtle Hollinger Kolzow.

    Mr. Kolzow was a member of the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake, Burdick Lodge No. 429. AF&AM, at Burdick and the Retired Teachers Association.

    He was married to Edna Heim May 25, 1931. at Lost Springs. She survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Larry Kolzow. Wichita, and Dee Kolzow, Salina; and two grandchildren.

    Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home in Hope. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Mr. Kolzow will lie in state until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church at Silver Lake or Hospice Club in Salina.
