• Documents » Slide Show		Obituary- Kratina, Frank 1 FRANK EDWARD KRATINA Frank Edward Kratina, 87, Topeka, died Thursday, January 31, 1980, at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness. He was born September 3, 1892, in the original Czech settlement across from the Moravan Hall near Rossville. He was the son of John and Anna Milnar Kratina. Mr. Kratina farmed near Rossville until the mid-1940s when he moved to Chicago. He retired and returned to Topeka in 1967. He was a charter and 50-year member of Delia Lodge No. 419 AF&AM, and a 50-year member of ZCBJ Moravian Lodge No. 128, which was founded by his father and other area people. Until his death, Mr. Kratina was the last surviving member of the Rossville Czech Band. He was married to Pauline Mitcha. She preceded him in death in August, 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nadine Mitchell, Delia; a son, Ernest Kratina, Topeka; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jarmilla Kovar, Overland Park; a stepson, John Mitcha, Overland Park; a sister, Mrs. Tressie Uhl, Grantville; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Masonic services were conducted by Lodge 419, Delia, at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Graveside services at Prairie Home Cemetery, west of Topeka, were conducted by Rossville Lodge 128, ZCBJ.

He was born September 3,1892, near Rossville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kratina. Mr. Kratina farmed near Rossville until the mid-1940s when he moved to Chicago.   		Birthday- Kratina, Frank Frank Kratina, Topeka, formerly of the Rossville-Delia community, celebrated his 84th birthday September 3, 1976. He was honored with a surprise party and dinner given by his children and grandchildren. Those in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mitchell, DeLaine and Denise, Delia; Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Bahner, Dawn, Derek and Darwin, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dean, Derron and Danelle, Silver Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kratina, Sharon, Cindy and Bradley, Dr. and Mrs. Larry Harris, Donna and Amy, and Dr. Ernest Kratina, all of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. John Mitcha and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Trumbo, Overland Park; and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mitcha, Jennifer, Heather and Ryan, Ponca City, Okla.
