| Obituary- Maguette, Richard Richard E. Magette
Richard E. Magette, 34, Rossville, died about 12 hours after an auto crash west of Rossville early Saturday morning. He was born October 5, 1938, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Magette in Beloit.
Mr. Magette was a member of the Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, Rossville American Legion. He was also a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Beloit. Mr. Magette was a plant superintendent at Cutler Repaving Corporation in Lawrence.
He was married to the former Janice LaCoe, Asherville. To this union were born two sons, Brandon, now 11, and Damon, 12. All survive.
Other survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Magette. Beloit; a sister, Mrs. Donald Schmitt, Beloit; three brothers, Louis Magette, Hunter; Larry Magette, Santa Ana, Calif., and Stephen Magette, Broken Bow, Nebr.
Two rosary services were held. At 4:00 p.m. Monday, the Catholic Daughters of America held a rosary and the Parish Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday were in St. John’s Catholic Church in Beloit with the Rev. Al Brungardt officiating. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery. Pall bearers were Edward Lloyd and Jim Shackelford, Rossville, Richard Peters, Topeka, Carmen Schmitt, Beloit, Larry Watts, Concordia, and Robert Whitney, Wamego. The two honorary pallbearers were Chuck Powell and Jerry Rehmert, both of Beloit. Jimmie Lillard Post 31, Rossville, held graveside services.
Harrison Funeral Home, Beloit, was in charge of arrangements.
