ROSSVILLE - Mrs. Mamie F. Marney, 93, Rossville, died Sunday Dec. 10, 1989, at a Rossville nursing home.
She spent most of her life in the Rossville area.
Mrs. Marney was a member of the Senior Citizens group and the Country Side Club, both in Rossville, and was a 40-year member of the Extension Homemakers Unit in Rossville.
She was born Aug. 17, 1896, in Lecompton, the daughter of Christopher and Mahalia Belcher.
She married James Ivan Marney Dec. 9, 1922, in Topeka. He died in April 1966. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Torria Ann Marney in 1931, and a son, James I. Marney Jr., in 1979.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin Otis Marney, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert H. Marney, Delia; a daughter, Elzora Homan, Kiro; 12 grandchildren two of which reside in Holton, Sandy Allen and Gary Marney and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Marney will lie in state after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the Rev. Alice Monshe at the Rossville Presbyterian Church.
