    Mr. "Ted" Marney, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marney and Miss Francs Kirkpatrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Kirkpatrick, both of this city, were granted a marriage license and wedded in Kansas City Monday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Marney expect to make Rossville their home.

    Theodore Marney
    Theodore Samuel Marney, 67, Rossville, died Monday in a Topeka hospital. He had been admitted to a Topeka hospital Jan. 24, 1971, and underwent surgery the following day. He had cancer.

    He was born May 26, 1904, at Rossville where he spent his life. He had worked for the Rossville Implement Co. and also for the Shawnee County maintenance department before he retired. He also had been a farmer.

    He was married to Frances Kirkpatrick Oct. 6, 1924, at Rossville. She survives. A daughter, Stella Mae Marney, died in 1928.

    Other survivors include two sons, Robert W. Marney and Kenneth J. Marney, both of Rossville; two daughters, Mrs. Delores Ward, Delia, and Mrs. Ruth Hause, Hartsburg, Mo.; his mother, Mrs. Rosa Marney, 2320 Topeka; two brothers, William F. Marney, 3127 Bryant, and Oliver D. Marney, Berryton; five sisters, Margaret Marney, 2320 Topeka, Mrs. Fleta Jones, 2800 W. 10th, Mrs. Nadine Berry, 1210 Washburn, Mrs. Marie Anderson, 932 Medford, and Mrs. Betty Corwin, 861 Eastgate Drive; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Marney will lie in state until noon Thursday at Parker Mortuary.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee County unit of the American Cancer Society.
