| Obituary- Martell, Judy 1 Judy Kay Martell, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Martell, St. Marys, died as the result of an auto accident late Sunday night, August 6, 1972. Miss Martell, a passenger in a car with three other young people was riding in the back seat of the car when it went out of control, striking the south rail of the Vermillion River Bridge on Highway 24 west of St. Marys. The others in the car were taken to area hospitals where they were treated.
Judy was born in Topeka on
March 30, 1955. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, an honor student at St. Marys High School where she would have been a senior this year, and active in various school groups. She was drum majorette for the band, a member of the Pep Club and of the Yearbook staff at St. Marys High School.
Surviving her are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Martell; two brothers, Ronald and Kenneth; and a sister, Cindy, of the home; and her

Two wake services were held Tuesday evening at the Verschelden Chapel. One at 7:00 for her high school friends and the other at 8:00 for the Parish. Funeral services were at 10:00 Wednesday at the I.C. Church. Burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
A memorial fund for St. Marys High School is being established. Contributions will be accepted at Verscheldens. |
