    Celebrate Golden Wedding
    ROSSVILLE RESIDENTS TO CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. John S. Martin will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, June 19. A reception in their honor will be held in the Rossville Community Center from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. No invitations are being sent but friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were born in Rossville and have spent most of their lives in the Rossville Community. They have seven children and thirty grand-children. The children are: James of Lubbock, Texas: John Jr. of Moline. Ks.; Robert and Ray of Topeka; Mrs. Bonnie Vande Velde of Kansas City. Ks.: Mrs. Nona Haltom of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Donald of the home.

    Donald “Dutch” Martin
    Donald D. “Dutch” Martin, 76, Rossville, died Sunday, June 30, at the Rossville Manor.
    He was born May 8, 1926, in Willard, the son of John Stanley and Viola Mary Bums Martin.
    Mr. Martin was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
    He grew up in the Rossville community. He had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, Topeka. He was an avid sports fan.
    Survivors include a brother, Raymond Martin, Topeka; two sisters, Bonnie R. Vande Velde, Ross¬ville, and Nona Haltom, Eufaula, OK; and many nieces and neph¬ews.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2002 at St. Stanislaus Cath¬olic Church, Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. A Rosa¬ry will be held at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys at 7:30 p.m.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Sheltered Living of Topeka and sent in care of Piper- Verschelden Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys 66536.

    Donald D. Martin
    ROSSVILLE — Donald D. “Dutch" Martin, 76, Rossville, died Sunday. June 30, 2002, at a Ross¬ville nursing home.
    He was born May 8, 1926, in Willard, to John Stanley and Viola Mary Bums Martin, and spent his early life in the Rossville community. He had worked for Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Rail¬road in Topeka.
    He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
    Survivors include a brother, Raymond Martin, Topeka; and two sisters. Bonnie R. VandeVelde, Rossville, and Nona Haltom, Eufaula, Okla.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
    Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Martin will lie in state after 4 p.m. Thursday at Piper- Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
