Francis “Bud” and Thelma Martin will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, September 6,1998 at the West Side Christian Church, 6th and Lindenwood, Topeka. The occasion is being hosted by their children.
Francis “Bud” Martin and Thelma Jane Parr were married August 8, 1948, at the Rossville Christian Church.

| Obituary- Martin, Francis M. Francis M. ‘Bud’ Martin
Francis M. “Bud” Martin, 75, Topeka, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1928, in Topeka, to Francis H. and Mildred A. Martin. Bud attended school in Rossville and graduated from Washburn University in Topeka.
He married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Parr, in Rossville Christian Church on Aug. 8, 1948. She survives.
He also is survived by three daughters, Sheryl Ouellette and Pam Cullen, both of Topeka, and Debra Matthews, New Braunfels, Texas; a son, Samuel Martin, Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bud retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 25 years and from the state of Kansas after 11 years.
He was a member of West Side Christian Church for 54 years, the Masonic Lodge No. 90 AF&AM and Scottish Rite Body of Topeka Bud was cremated and at his request there will be no formal memorial service. An informal gathering of family and friends will be between 2 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Fellowship Hall at West Side Christian Church.
