    Obituary- Martin, Gerald
    Gerald “Ted” Martin
    Gerald “Ted" Martin, 82, of Meriden KS., died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
    He was born October 23, 1923 at Winchester, KS., the son of Roy and Grace E. Davis Martin. He had lived in Meriden since 1959, moving from Topeka.
    Mr. Martin worked at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka 34 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Meriden United Meth¬odist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He served with Company G in the 19th infantry where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was discharged on July 17, 1951. He is a member of the American Legion Post #225 of Ozawkie and the Grahem-Herbers V.F.W. Post #3084 at Valley Falls and was an Associate Member of the Meriden V.F.W. Post# 10815 in Meriden.
    “Ted” was married to Doris R. Brown on April 2, 1947 at Oskaloosa, she preceded him in death on September 30, 2002.
    Survivors include two Sons, Larry Dean Martin, Valley Falls, Keith G. Martin, Topeka; One Sister, Betty Palmer, Topeka; three Grandchildren, Travis Martin, Angela Funk, both of Valley Falls, Lacy Martin, Topeka; and six Great-Grandchildren.
    He was also preceded in death by one Sister, Frances Nelson, two Brothers, Kenneth Martin and Donald Martin.
    Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Meriden Chapel. Burial will be at the Ozawkie Cemetery with V.F.W. Honors provided by Grahem-Herbers Post #3084. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Tonight (Friday) at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Meriden Chapel in Meriden.
