    Merle F. Martin
    Merle F. Martin, 82, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 15, 1987, at a TopeŽka hospital.
    Mr. Martin was a shift supervisor for the City of ToŽpeka Water DeŽpartment before he retired in 1970.
    He was born March 8, 1905, in Rossville, the son of Samuel F. and Ethel Pearl Hook Martin. He attendŽed Quincy Grade Merle F' Martin School in Topeka and was graduated from Topeka High School. He spent most of his life in Topeka.
    He was married to Margaret Quaney Sept. 28, 1931, in Topeka. She survives.
    Other survivors include a daughŽter, Mrs. Sue Muckenthaler, Topeka; a son, William M. Martin, Cairo, Egypt; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. SaturŽday at Brennan Funeral Home. BuriŽal will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Martin will lie in state from 2 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where a Christ the King Parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday.
