    Mrs. Pearl Martin
    Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Pearl Martin, 80, who died May 15 in a Topeka hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Martin will be remembered by many as the daughter of W.V. Hook, former old-time residents of Rossville.

    Mrs. Martin,
    Resident 80 Years, Dies
    Mrs. Pearl E. Martin, 80, 1220 Kellam, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital after an extended illness.
    She was born Oct. 23, 1881, at Rossville and was a resi¬dent of Shawnee County all her life.
    Mrs. Martin was a mem¬ber of the Lowman Memorial Methodist Church and Helena Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
    Her husband, Sam Martin, preceded her in death.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Cardwell, 1220 Kellam, and Mrs. Wendell B. Jones of Galves¬ton, Tex.; two sons, Francis H. Martin, 1726 Belvoir Court, and Merle F. Martin, 1307 Polk; five grandchil¬dren; seven great-grand-children; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Conlan of Miami, Fla.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with burial in the Silver Lake Cemetery.
