    Celebrate Golden Wedding
    ROSSVILLE RESIDENTS TO CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. John S. Martin will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, June 19. A reception in their honor will be held in the Rossville Community Center from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. No invitations are being sent but friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were born in Rossville and have spent most of their lives in the Rossville Community. They have seven children and thirty grand-children. The children are: James of Lubbock, Texas: John Jr. of Moline. Ks.; Robert and Ray of Topeka; Mrs. Bonnie Vande Velde of Kansas City. Ks.: Mrs. Nona Haltom of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Donald of the home.

    Mrs. Viola M. Martin
    Mrs. Viola M. Martin, 90, Rossville, died late Monday at a Topeka hospital.
    She was born June 6, 1892, at Ross¬ville, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Navarre Burns, and spent her life in the Rossville community.
    Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville and the Altar Society at the church. She also was a member of the auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.
    She was married to John S. Martin Sept. 16, 1916, in Topeka. He survives.
    Other survivors include two daugh¬ters, Mrs. Bonnie R. VandeVelde, Kan¬sas City, Kan., and Mrs. Nona A. Halton, Eufaula, Okla.; five sons, James I. Martin, Lubbock, Texas, John S. Martin Jr., Howard, Robert B. Martin, Rossville, Raymond L. Martin, 2832 W. 19th, Topeka, and Donald D. Martin, at home; a brother, Raymond Burns, Hol¬ton; 34 grandchildren; and 21 great¬grandchildren.
    Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catho¬lic Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
