    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martinek, Rossville, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23. They do not plan to have a formal celebration.

    Albert Martinek and Frances Badura were married at the courthouse in Topeka by the judge on June 23, 1920, and have lived in the Rossville community all their lives. They farmed and lived in the country until 20 years ago when they moved to their home on Main Street.

    The couple has one daughter, Blanche Bales, Topeka.

    Reception For Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martinek

    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martinek celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception June 23, 1980, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Layne. Co-hosting were Ann and David Cunningham.

    Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cerny, Frank Cerny, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis, Mr. and Mrs. August Stach, Mary and Mrs. Helen Kratina.

    Albert J. Martinek

    Albert J. Martinek, 93, Rossville, died Sunday, May 21, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.

    He and his wife farmed from 1920 until 1959 when they retired and moved into Rossville.

    He was born Feb. 22, 1896, northeast of Rossville, the son of Vince and Agnes Simecka Martinek.

    He was married to Frances Badura June 23, 1920. She died Feb 1, 1986.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Bales, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Macha, Council Grove, and Mrs. Mae Brown, Kansas City, Mo.; and three brothers, Henry Martinek and Bennie Martinek, both of Rossville, and Emil Martinek, Topeka.

    Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Martinek will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the mortuary.
