He had been ill all his life. He was born April 21, 1988, in Topeka, the son of Dennis E. and Pamela Sue Hawkins Martinek. He lived all his life in Silver Lake. He was baptized at First United Methodist Church in Topeka June 15, 1989. Other survivors include a sister, Nicole Martinek, Silver Lake; grandparents, Mrs Helen Martinek, Rossville, and Robert and Marge Hawkins, Topeka; and a great-grandmother, Agnes Martinek, Rossville. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Jeremy Martinek will lie in state after 5 p.m. today at the mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
